If a defect is discovered in a product during the requested maintenance service, we will inform you via email with a cost estimate of recommended repairs or adjustments.
In this case, we are waiting for your reply as to whether these works should be carried out.
If no repairs are needed, we complete the inspection and return the devices. You will be informed about this with a tracking link.
You can hand in your devices to the shop without an appointment.
After about 4,5 hours, the inspection of your devices is complete. We will inform you by e-mail or, if you wish, by phone call to pick up your devices.
If necessary, after an individual check, we will inform you about recommended repair work by e-mail or when you pick it up at the Nikon Service Point Dresden (only if necessary).
Then decide for yourself which repair measures should be carried out.
What is being done?
Nikon inspection service
The art of taking a perfect photo requires a 100% working device. Our inspection service ensures that your equipment is working perfectly. From sensor cleaning to full maintenance (including autofocus (AF) setting) and focus adjustment, our multi-point services ensure your devices always perform at their best.
camera inspection
Cleaning the image sensor, the mirror (if applicable), the ground glass (if applicable), the external LCD surfaces and the camera body.
Checking moving parts (buttons, dials, latches), hot shoe operation, internal flash, memory card insertion and removal, lens attachment and removal, camera/lens communication, port and jack operation, internal error messages, external screw tightness, video functions. Exposure and shutter speed are also checked with an image test.
Review camera shutter counter and firmware version. Firmware update if applicable and requested.
lens inspection
Cleaning the external lens surfaces and the external lens body.
Examination of lens attachment and detachment, camera/lens communication, external lens barrel, image stabilizer operation (if applicable), focus and zoom rings operation (if applicable), tripod ring operation (if applicable), aperture function, external screws, exposure and resolution using an image test.
Review the firmware version. Firmware update if applicable and requested.
Flash inspection
Check direct and indirect flash function
Checking moving parts (buttons, dials, latches), hot shoe operation, and checking target flash output.
Check flash tube.
Determine trigger number
Check synchronization with camera.
Checking the firmware version. Firmware update if applicable and requested.
