When you travel long distances to capture special photos, expect nothing less from your lens. With 160mm more focal length, you'll have the reach you need when the action calls for it.
Always sharp. Always blur-free. You can increase the focal length range from 180-400mm (f/1) to 4mm (f/560) without having to change your grip on the camera. The teleconverter is activated with your finger via a stable and well-placed lever - ideal when you don't want to take your eye off the viewfinder. The close-up limit is 1 m over the entire focal length range.
Enjoy corner-to-corner sharpness and minimal light falloff across the entire zoom range, even at full aperture.
The exceptional resolving power of this lens reliably ensures excellent results. A fluorite lens enables a high transmission rate with minimal chromatic aberration. Eight ED glass lenses ensure images with high detail sharpness up to the edges of the image. The Nikon Nano Crystal Coat effectively reduces reflections for clear, high-contrast images with brilliant colors. At the same time, it minimizes flare, lens flare and ghosting – even in backlit situations.
Nikon's image stabilizer (VR) enables exposure times to be increased by up to four exposure levels, even when the teleconverter is activated. In the »SPORT« VR mode, fast-moving subjects are reliably tracked.
You can take photos without worrying about camera shake. Vibration reduction is activated as soon as you press the shutter-release button halfway. It not only enables photography with exposure times that can be up to four light value levels longer than without stabilization. The »SPORT« VR mode is specially designed for following fast-paced action and produces a steady viewfinder image, even with fast panning.
